Co-chairman Jon Loke, Head of
Art at Ogilvy Singapore said, "It's encouraging
to see more 360 through-the-line thinking from
the students. It's where our industry is heading
and they have demonstrated the ability in
adapting to the changing media landscape whilst
still being focused on coming up with the Big
Idea."
This year's Crowbar Festival
commenced with the 24-Hour Crowbar Advertising
Challenge, where 18 teams from 8 schools were
split into two tracks and were given a brief by
either Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre or
Health Promotion Board to crack. Following that,
they were subjected to a presentation before a
judging panel comprising of prominent figures
hailing from the creative community. Two winning
teams from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
stood out for their refreshing campaigns.
The Crowbar Awards 2010
attracted 1,000 entries from 39 schools across
the globe, spanning countries such as New
Zealand, Shanghai and Germany. Held at the
Shangri-la Hotel, the Crowbar Awards is into its
10th edition this year. In line with the theme
of this year's awards, 'The only way to get it
is to earn it," the winning teams emerged amidst
intense competition and strict judging to win
the recognition that will help further their
budding advertising career.
