The Singapore Creative Circle
Awards (CCA), the Oscar's
of Singapore's creative industry,
will continue to fine-tune
the steps taken to maintain
our reputation and the high
creative standards that we
have established so far.
Last year, several changes
were initiated to tighten
up rules to remove scam work.
Entry categories were
merged and at times delete
d. Gold was made more
precious by limiting one award
per sub-category. For
the first time, separate ranking
tables were created to recognize
the growth and strength of
the other creative disciplines
beyond advertising. A
separate ranking table for
craft was also formed to give
it more recognition. Finally
the Client's Choice segment
was introduced in our quest
to bring the client community
closer to us.
“Although we made a lot of
progress last year, there
is still the need to fine-tune
as we move forward, particularly
in the area of entry submissions
and verifications, “ said
Linda Locke, Chairperson of
the 4As Creative Advisory
Panel.
This year, the verification
process will be more stringent.
For example all print entries
are to be verified by tear-sheets
only, and all TVC and posters
are to be verified by media
schedule.
"The Singapore creative
community looks to the Creative
Circle Awards to set and maintain
the highest level of creative
standards for excellence in
our industry,so as to be on
par with international shows
and tightening rules as necessary
to further raise the bar and
protect our reputation,” added
Locke.
As the industry barometer,
CCA attracts more than 1,000
entries each year. Agencies
compete for recognition for
the best work in advertising,
design, direct marketing/promo
and interactive media.
