April - The New Official Month for Creative Circle Award
The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As) has endorsed the recommendations of the 4As Creative Advisory Panel to postpone the 29th Creative Circle Awards (CCA) to 2010.
Given the density of award shows at the end of the year, the 4As Creative Advisory Panel (CAP) has for some time been contemplating moving CCA into an earlier window. It was felt that the current economic crisis, which has led to cuts in advertising investment and placed financial pressure on agencies, presented an opportunity to reset the timing of the awards.
Anthony Kang, 4As President said, “Skipping shows is not unprecedented. In the past, there were some years that CCA did not take place.”
With this postponement, the cycle of the awards will be reset. The qualifying period for 2010’s CCA will now be increased from a 12 month to a 16 month qualifying period. This extension of time will ensure the industry’s ability to fully participate in CCA.
The entry submission period is targeted to be towards the end of 2009 and the exact date of the awards ceremony will be announced early 2010.
