CAAAA Unveils Logo

The Confederation of Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) announced the winner of the CAAAA Symbol Mark Competition at the Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on 18 March 2008.

Created by Jay Godave (Art) and Judith M. Varma (Copy) from Mumbai’s Cornerstone Communication, it was designed keeping in mind the symbiotic nature of the advertising industry.  The four A’s lie adjacent like majestic Pagodas to form the curve of a C, which also symbolizes a meeting ground.  The colours black and orange are reflective of the two advertising arms – creative and business.  Both come together to form a dynamic cycle.

Each member association held their own local competition for the Symbol Mark Competition and the winner in each competition was submitted as the country’s nomination for the final round.  The judging took place at the Jeju General Meeting in October last year, following which trade mark searches were done before the winner was eventually announced.

Topping the Singapore competition is DDB Singapore’s creative director Terence Tan, whose entry won him the nomination prize.

The winner took home USD1,000 while the nomination prize winners received USD300.

The CAAAA Symbol Mark Competition was held to mark the formation of the confederation.  With founding members from ten countries: China, Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, CAAAA was officially registered in Singapore in October last year.
