Creative President

Eugene has nearly 30 years experience in advertising, working across Europe and Asia.

He is Asia’s most lauded copywriter, and one of the world’s most awarded creatives. He has won over 200 international awards and has 11 Cannes Lions to his credit, out of which 6 are gold.

Returning to Ogilvy Singapore in 1996 as Creative Director, he propelled the office to the world’s seventh most creative agency. (Adweek Ranking 1998.)

In 2002, he was made Head of Copy, Asia Pacific and deputy to Asia Pacific Co-Chairman and Executive Creative Director, Tham Khai Meng.

Under their partnership, the network continues to rise through the regional and global creative rankings: according to the Gunn Report, Ogilvy Asia Pacific contributed 47 per cent to O&M Worldwide’s total awards tally, while Campaign Brief Asia ranked Ogilvy Asia Pacific the hottest network for the last seven consecutive years.

In 2009, Eugene was promoted to Creative President and assumed the creative leadership of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.

Eugene is a member of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide Creative Council and Worldwide Board of Directors.

Jeff Cheong
Tribal BBD Singapore
Head of Tribal / Executive Creative Director

Jeff Cheong is the Head of Tribal DDB Singapore and Executive Creative Director. He works with the various disciplines in DDB and Rapp to create integrated solutions.

Under his stewardship, he has created a team of specialists who now work on through-the-line businesses like Uniqlo, Tourism Australia, CAAS, SIM and ION Orchard.

Previously, he was Digital Creative Director at TBWA\TEQUILA. In less than a year, Jeff brought in new service offerings and the team grew under his leadership. 3 months into his job he became a vital member of the Singapore Airlines pitch team that eventually won the business. This was shortly followed by another win for Resorts World Sentosa. Jeff provided creative and strategic leadership for Singapore Airlines, Standard Chartered and MobileOne.

His works are recognized in Cannes, One Show Interactive, New York Festivals, Effies and locally in Creative Circle Awards and Asian Interactive Awards.

Jeff continues to apply his media-agnostic philosophy and help ideas flourish best in their medium.

Mark Fong
Y&R Singapore
Creative Director

Mark started as a copywriter at HDM in 1989 after returning from the UK with a BA in Marketing & Administration.

Within 10 months, he beat other more seasoned pros to be commended as Young Copywriter of the Year in the Singapore Creative Circle Awards.

In the next 20 years, Mark won prizes in almost all the world’s top creative competitions including The One Show, CLIOs, D&AD, Cannes and Singapore Creative Circle Awards.

Besides being a regular judge at local and regional creative competitions, Mark became one of the rare Asians invited to judge at the prestigious British D&AD awards in 2004.

Mark’s otherwise non-controversial creative career was marred by his abrupt defection (attributed to a mid-life anomaly) from creative to account and general management as the first and only local CD to turn CEO at Batey. After a year staring at spreadsheets with stellar albeit mind-numbingly dull numbers, he (thankfully) came to his senses and returned to his creative roots.

Outside of advertising, Mark has been invited by the Prime Minister’s Office to contribute to Singapore’s Long Term Scenario Planning.

Married for 20 years, Mark enjoys winning new businesses, the respect of his clients and the love of his two children. But not in that order.
