Jonathan Yuen has his website starred alongside rock legend David Bowie, eBay, co-founders of YouTube and web-sharing website Flickr as winners of The 11th Annual Webby Awards, the Oscars of the Internet.
A multiple Webby Awards winner, Yuen's website www.jonathanyuen.com won three awards for Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics, Best Visual Design Aesthetic and Personal Web Site. His website has also won him the Interactive Gong at last year's Creative Circle Awards.
One of two Webby Lifetime Achievement awards went to David Bowie for a career that has pushed the boundaries of art and technology from BowieNet, an Internet service provider, to his digital media company UltraStar, BowieArt, an innovative website.
The other was awarded to eBay President and CEO Meg Whitman on behalf of the eBay community, which has 233 million registered buyers and sellers.
YouTube co-founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley were awarded Webby Person of the Year. They will be saluted for YouTube's role in transforming the media landscape and reshaping everything from politics to pop culture.
New categories were added this year honouring online film and video, with best actor and actress awards going to "Ninja" from the "Ask a Ninja" online comedy series and Jessica Lee Rose, who became an overnight sensation as fictional video diarist "lonelygirl15."

This year's winners were chosen from a record 8,000 entries from over 60 countries worldwide by a panel of web experts who are members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Winners of The People's Voice were determined by 400,000 public votes.
As an industry association partner of The Webby Awards, the 4As believe in creative excellence and developing talents through supporting educational programs and international award shows. The 4As also hope to further promote our industry as a leader in interactive services and strategies.
The winners will be honoured at two ceremonies on 4 and 5 June in New York , where winners are limited to five-word acceptance speeches
