Crowbar Winners – Where Are They Now?

Don't underestimate the power of a crowbar. From a local event to one that reaches beyond the boundaries of national lines, The Crowbars have certainly evolved over the years and served its purpose – to create a platform for students to break into the creative industry.

“Breaking In” is an initiative by the 4As to complement our efforts in nurturing and developing young talents for the creative industry.

Through the publication of this book, we hope to inspire and encourage our young people to join the creative industry and that they too can be successful.

In this series of “Where AreThey Now”, we feature some of our past Crowbar winners who have done well in their careers and hope that they will serve as an encouragement to many others.

From a Crowbar winner to a judge – meet Raymond Chin, our very first Crowbar Best of Show winner, who is now at TBWA\China.

Raymond Chin's entry for Kiwi Shoe Polish won him the Best of Show Award for Advertising in 2001. Since then, he's won many other awards, amongst them the Creative Circle Awards, Adfest, Cannes and The One Show. Now, an Associate Creative Director, he came full circle by returning to judge The Crowbar Awards in 2005.

Did the internship program at Fallon Minneapolis sharpen your creativity/skills?
It was a real eye opener to see how some of the biggest names in advertising, such as David Lubars and Bob Barrie and the Swedes work.

Do you have any suggestion as to how we can bring the Crowbar Awards to another level?
I think opening the award show up to the rest of the world is a brilliant move.

What are you currently working on? Tell us more about it.
I'm at TBWA\ China. Clients include Adidas, Absolut and Mcdonald's.
