Befitting to the Crowbar 2009’s tagline of “it’s your chance to shine”, this year’s entries have shown great promise of budding stars who have the potential to shine in the creative industry.

The jury panel has concurred that the entries this year has shown more polish and a fresh savviness with the industry trends and expectations. As Desmond Tan, film director at Salt Films commented on one of the winning entries, “we felt unanimously that this is a production that is ready to be launched worldwide and you can send this to any film festival around the world.”

The Crowbars have seen a bevy of outstanding creative talents who have gone on to do very well in the creative industry. A member of this year’s Advertising jury panel, Ang Sheng Jin who is now Senior Art Director at McCann Erickson is a shining example. He was a past Crowbar winner who had made a sweep of multiple awards in 2002. Attesting to the rise in standards of the entries, he remarked that “Thank goodness that I entered back then”.

The winners of Crowbar 2009 will be announced at the Awards Show which will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel on 28 August, Friday. Winning works will be showcased at the exhibition on that night.
